Sometimes you just get lucky. This image is one of those days. The sun setting between the clouds and the city horizon.
Kastellholmen is the island in the picture. It has an incredible history. First fortifications on the island were in 1667 and the castle built there now was completed in 1848. It was part of Stockholms defence system in World War 1 and now the Swedish flag is raised and lowered each day to show that Sweden is at peace.
Seeing the whole city from this perspective is amazing. In the centre at the top is Gamla Stan (Old Town), on the left is Norrmalm and Östermalm and the land on the right is Skeppsholmen.
This image was taken in February 2021.
