The Pyramid of Austerlitz is a 36-metre-high pyramid, built in 1804 by Napoleon's soldiers on one of the highest points of the Utrecht ridge originally had a wooden spire. However, after only a few years it was demolished and replaced by a stone one.
In 2002 nearly 200 years after its original construction, the Dutch government decided to restore the completely dilapidated pyramid back to its former glory. The work took over 5 years, but now it stands as one of the most stunning places to visit in the Netherlands.
